Lodging and Transport

Of course these are not the only lodging options in San Diego, but we wanted to steer you in the right direction. Be sure to ask hotel staff about parking availability, parking fees, and rates in August as price fluctuates between seasons.

La Jolla Lodging Options

If you would like to stay in beautiful La Jolla, we recommend The Bed & Breakfast Inn La Jolla, Scripps Inn, or the Empress hotel.

Vacation Rental

If you can get a group of people together, a house can be shared for a very reasonable rate (think $50-100 per night). Check out vrbo.com and start getting your group together. If you would like us to investigate a place, please call and get the address and we will be happy to run by. Please contact us if you need to know someone else who may be looking to share. This option does require that all group members stay for the same amount of time.

Hotel Circle

There are a lot of options in the "Hotel Circle" area in Mission Valley.

Budget Lodging Option

Check out the most economical option--the hostel in the Point Loma area of San Diego. The hostel offers a 4 person dorm-style or private room. Note that the rooms are small (think dorm room!), and the bathrooms are shared. When we visited, the hostel was clean, had a large kitchen and living area/patio, and the staff was very knowledgeable.

Transport

If you decide not to rent a car, check out the public transport system. San Diego has a transportation system that will allow you to get most anywhere you want to go. To get to/from the airport, be sure to research the various shuttle services as they are cheaper than a taxi.

We hope you can use our wedding date as an excuse to take a little (or a big) vacation and explore this wonderful city!
